Hey Lance,
This is awesome!
Thanks for creating this for us!
For those of you that haven't visited Brian's site http://www.thefilmpanelnotetaker.com you should it's a great resource that covers panels and discussions around the art, craft and business of film.
Your website actually scared me. Note to self - don't wear headphones at 1am while listening to old scary doods speak from flames.
Nice work man - site looks amazing.
The FHTA team will be in Austin this coming weekend for SXSW. Arin, M dot Strange and myself are speaking on a few SXSW panels and we're also holding a number of FHTA filmmaker roundtables @ the bside offices about the current state of independent filmmaking. Then on Monday night we're having an FHTA party that is sponsored by indiegogo, tubemogul and bside. If you're going to be in Austin for the fest or know of anyone who is going tell them to ... I'm a huge comic and graphic novel fan. For my latest feature Head Trauma I was fortunate to have S.R. Bissette of Swamp Thing and Constantine fame ink a comic that used in the film. And the site http://headtraumamovie.com is an interactive comic with things hidden under the surface.
Way to go prolific,Filmmakers that just keep making film, in the face of opposition, are an inspiration to the rest of us.
Alexia, Thanks for the interest I've been slammed, trying to keep up with the promo videos for the Filmmakers Channel project. Doing my part, to help filmmakers get better distribution outlets, that will be the most attractive to viewers.
Check out my blog for more details, (you have to go there to see the videos)

Funny you should say that - I have a Booth at Comic Con East. It is my first comic convention.
Looks great. Have you ever shown these at comic book conventions?
Thx for the nod.
Glad to be your first post :)

Here in the world of the web we take for granted that the world knows what is happening around them. The television as we know it is changing and looking more and more like a monitor connected to the internet. Who will lead the market and how can the industrious small business owner capitalize on this trend? If you look through the data compiled here you might be able to follow the process I'm getting at. The viability of the small business built... [read more]
There are two new FHTA vids. Big thanks to Jeff and Jordan for their amazing animated version. And fest co-founder Arin put together a great live action version. This past weekend FHTA was promoted on both youTube and myspace. You can view the vids in FHTA player @ the top of this social site. Make sure to subscribe to the FHTA channels and friend us on myspace, youTube, twitter, facebook and OurStage if you haven't already.
Hey Ida. Thanks for helping us out with the fest. Brian and Jamie - Ida will be helping you guys out with Theatrical bookings and filmmaker outreach. Welcome aboard Ida!
Brian is genius. Great guy to work with.
new festival partners have come on board this week. Amazon Unbox, Power to the Pixel and DogWoof. Also there is a cool new "call for submission video in the works." We are doing a large press and promotional push next week. If anyone has suggestions on blogs or online outlets to target please drop a comment and let us know.
The RSS aspect is cool and I'm excited to see how we can use crowdvine to build discussions leading up to the festival and beyond. I also like the way that we can direct comments to each other and that the discussion can appear on the front page.
Good call lance, Crowdvine seems pretty cool, like that I can put my rss feeds in.
From Here to Awesome is an experiment and a discussion as much as it is a discovery and distribution festival. Over the coming months we will be sharing a collection of educational content in the form of virtual panels, how-to's, and tutorials. We're looking for filmmakers who would like to share their experiences. If you'd like to help organize a virtual panel, share a tutorial and/or a how-to, we'd love to distribute it through the festival. Al... [read more]
